On Thursday, 4 May 2017, the Netherlands Community in the Washington, DC region will commemorate the members of the Netherlands Armed Forces and Civilians who died during wars or crisis management operations worldwide since the Second World War.

The Netherlands Carillion, a gift from the Netherlands to the United States of America for its help during and after World War II, represents the bond between the people of the United States of America and the people of the Netherlands.
The wreath-laying ceremony will start at 1.55 p.m., followed by two minutes of silence, at exactly the same time the National commemorative ceremony at the National Monument on the Dam in Amsterdam will take place.
